Marc Chagall in his studio in St. Paul de Vence
St. Paul de Vence
1965
Marc Chagall lived in St. Paul de Vence from the 1950s onwards and became friends with Aimé Maeght, who, in the 1960s, began launching his project to set up the "Fondation Maeght". The foundation was finally established in 1964. Scheidegger – who was also a friend of Aimé Maeght – was introduced to Chagall through him and went on to produce a small series of photos in his studio.
